UNHCR/WFP-2011 showed that energy should be 1000-1200 Kcal/person/day in take home dry ration from supplementary food. In saw a document named MAM-A Decision Tools for Emergencies by Global Nutrition Cluster showed a product- WSB++ or Super cereal plus. The recommended daily dose is 200g/person/day that provided 820 Kcal/person/day for U-5 children including provision of sharing. As far i know some countries using this product currently. Now the question is that the differences of energy coming from supplementary product is 200 Kcal (UNHCR-WFP guideline vs MAM-A Decision Tools for Emergencies by Global Nutrition Cluster-2012).
Actually I want to know the actual physiological energy need for moderately malnourished children that should come from Supplementary food.
Is there any related document that give me the clear idea-----Please??
I would like to know the actual physiological energy need for moderately malnourished children that should come from Supplementary food.
For the WSB++"The recommended daily dose is 200g/person/day that provided 820 Kcal/person/day for U-5 children including provision of sharing." It is also recommended by MAM-A Decision Tools for Emergencies by Global Nutrition Cluster-2012.
According to UNHCR/WFP-GUIDELINES FOR SELECTIVE FEEDING: THE MANAGEMENT OF MALNUTRITION IN EMERGENCIES -January 2011 " energy should be 1000-1200 Kcal/person/day in take home dry ration from supplementary food."
Now the question is that the differences of energy coming from supplementary product is 200 Kcal (UNHCR-WFP guideline vs MAM-A Decision Tools for Emergencies by Global Nutrition Cluster-2012). Can anybody help me?
Thanks
