International Medical Corps (IMC) is seeking a public health nutritionist to work with the IMC’s Chad Nutrition Program. The Nutritionist will support the Care Groups through which infant and young child feeding (IYCF) and social behavior change (SBC) related to nutrition activities will be implemented. Train national staff to implement the Care Group program ? Ensure efficiency and results-oriented performance in the Care Group component of the program ? Develop and implement a capacity building plan on the Care Group component, IYCF, and SBC for local project staff ? Liaise with the Ministry of Health to build their capacity in the Care Group approach to ensure sustainability ? Document all processes and outputs of capacity building, coordination and management of activities to ensure a experiences and lessons are well documented for future reference ? Prepare an M&E plan for the Care Group component and provide weekly and monthly progress updates to his/her reporting office(s). Submit quarterly, mid-term and final technical reports as may be required by the project documents and in a timely manner ? Work with nutrition team on developing and conducting surveys and evaluations as needed. This could include knowledge, attitudes and practices, SMART and other surveys ? Coordinate with community-based management of acute malnutrition program and maternal and Child health program for referrals between components Knowledge Skills and Abilities 1. Master’s degree in nutrition or MPH public health nutrition, nutrition or medical anthropology, or behavior change and 5 + years of relevant work experience (minimum 3 years in developing country) or Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and 7+ years of relevant work experience (minimum 5 years in developing country) 2. Solid SBC experience; Care Group experience preferred 3. Working in chronic underdevelopment settings where both acute malnutrition and stunting are significant issues of public health concern 4. Very strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to take the initiative 5. Knowledgeable about latest development best practices relating to nutrition such as the latest WHO changes relating to child growth standards, acute malnutrition and CMAM, 1000 Days approach and latest SBC techniques and tools 6. Possess proven analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills 7. Ability to relate to and motivate local staff effectively 8. Ability to work in hardship conditions and in conflict-prone areas; ability to be flexible 9. Project startup experience preferred 10. Excellent oral and written communication; good computer skills, strong writing skills (in English and French)
