Hello, I am looking for programmatic examples of Food Is Medicine/Food as Health in LMICs for a research project that I'm working on.
A bit about Food Is Medicine for this project:
While multiple definitions are used to describe Food is Medicine activities, our research team is interested in learning about interventions that utilize food and/or food vouchers as part of healthcare and medical treatment for individuals with chronic health conditions, including both communicable (e.g., TB, HIV) and noncommunicable (e.g., diabetes, obesity, hypertension) diseases in LMICs.
Though there are a lot of great initiatives happening globally, for this project, we are not including vitamin/mineral supplementation, therapeutic food provision (e.g., RUTF), acute malnutrition treatment (MAM/SAM), or cash transfers.
Do you know of any good examples of programs that we should explore? Are there any other related innovations we should consider?
Thanks in advance for your help!
