Plumby nut is a ready to use therapeutic food for treatment of severe acute malnutrition while plumpy sub has been designed for treatment of moderate acute malnutrition.

Is plumpy sub the same as plumpy sup? I haven't heard of plumpy sub.

Plumpy nut same as Rutf,for treating SAM.plumpy sup,same as RUSF,for treating  MAM.

Haven't heard  of plumpy Sub.

Plumpy Sup and Plumpy Nut are commercial type Lipid-based Nutrient Supplement (LNS) Large Quantity (92-100 g). These are manufactured products from the French company, Nutriset. Both are groundnut paste composed of vegetable fat, peanut butter, skimmed milk powder, lactoserum, maltodextrin, sugar, and a mineral and vitamin complex. Both are available in individual sachets of 500 kcal (92 g) and is ready-to eat (It can be used simply by opening the sachet and eating it no cooking or diluting is necessary).

Plumpy Sup is a brand of ready-to-use supplementary food (RUSF) that is used to treat moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) among 6 to 59 months. It is 500 kcal with 13g protein (10%), 31g fat (55%). Contains EFA, meets RNI and PDCAAS.

Meanwhile, Plumpy Nut is a brand of ready-to-use therapeutic use for treatment of severe acute malnutrition (SAM). Plumpy Nut The nutritional value of Plumpy’Nut is similar to that of NUTRISET’ therapeutic milk F100. It is recommended to use Plumpy’Nut in Phase 2 of the dietary treatment of severe malnutrition. The recommended dose varies up to 200 Kcal/body weight/day or 2 to 3 sachets / day / person.
