Hi Colleagues
Does anyone have the tool for assessing community dynamics as related to CMAM programming used when doing SQUEAC assessment. I know there are the FGDS and semi structured interviews but would like a tool that can help to deeply understand these community dynamics (barriers, boosters, opinions). Have anyone done a similar assessment before?

Hi Stanley,
Just a reminder to you and others that there is a selection of resources for coverage assessment that you can access from the ENN resource library. They are described here:

These may be somewhat dated now though, so I am posting your question for others to contribute new resources or experiences.
Best wishes,
Tamsin

8 years agoHi Stanley,
The CMN has developed a number of tools and guidelines to help CMAM programme staff to undertake community assessments. All of these are available from the CMN website on our Training Centre.
These include the Community Assessment Guidelines which describes in detail how to conduct a full community assessment both during and independently of a SQUEAC assessment (including data collection and analysis methods and templates for community profiles). Useful tools for assessing community dynamics include the Community communication channel matrix and the Social Mapping tool.
The findings from these exercises can then be used to develop specific, targeted action plans to improve community mobilisation in CMAM programmes. You'll find some templates and guidance in the Tools section of this page.
