Dear All, You may have seen the announcement already this morning that the UNGA has proclaimed a 'Decade of Action on Nutrition'. This could not have come at a better time.
The purpose is obvious, and in my opinion, allows us in the Nutrition Fraternity to put our house in order and get real 'action' while the focus of a whole decade is on us. My vision is that 10 years from now, we will have achieved progress beyond the WHA and SDG nutrition targets. The analogy in my mind is the 7 productive years in Ancient Egypt under the leadership of Joseph
But I cannot help wondering IF we, as a Fraternity, are REALLY REALLY ready to take advantage of this huge CAPITAL given to us. I am by this short piece hoping to excite a discussion on WHAT to do (and Prioritise) with this proclamation and more importantly, HOW to take advantage of it. Ten years can be a really short time, if not spent well (ie, the 7 lean years following the 7 years of bumper harvest in the Joseph Story).
