I am doing a literature review on micronutrient programming in emergency.
So, I want to know:
What are effective micronutrient interventions for prevention and control of micronutrient deficiency disorder (MDD) in emergency?
What are the major gaps and how it can be addressed/minimised?
Please refer to the following website for some background and literature on available micronutrient interventions that can be used in emergencies : www.hftag.org

Setting up programmes to successfully promote and monitor use of food supplementation products (such as micronutrient powders or lipid nutrient supplements) at household level can be quite challenging in large scale emergency type programmes. Studies have indicated that adherence can be very low if the product is not well suited and/or the programme is not well designed and run and impact may be low. e.g. Rah. et al. JNut (2012); Kodish et al FNB (2011); Ndemwa et al. FNB (2011).
For a broad list of interventions to consider you could look at the Harmonised Training Package at http://www.unscn.org/en/gnc_htp/modul.php?modID=19
I should mention I was involved in writing this so a small COI to declare here.
