I work in country where we have been challenged to justify why we should continue implementing emergency nutrition responses in a country with acceptable levels of acute malnutrition. Stunting levels are however very high here. The most recent nutrition assessment indicated levels of acute malnutrition that are below the threshold for emergency yet an emergency response is ongoing. We have been challenged by the donor group to do an indepth analysis of nutrition in relation to socio-economic indicators to identify areas where support could be directed to sustain the low prevalence of acute malnutrition while at the same time addressing the chronic malnutrition.
Do you have a good idea where we could start and how we would progress and what key indicators we may want to look at?
Thank you
Dear
Keep in mind the period of hunger gap before caring out the indepth analysis,
Key indicators could be:
Demographic data
Anthropometric data
Dietary history
Thanks and best
