PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Intermediate Result 3: Sustainable improve food utilization, as part of the larger Title II Development Food Assistance Program that will be implemented in Zimbabwe, will work to sustainably reduce malnutrition through increased dietary diversity and quality, improved care practices for women and children, increased access to water and sanitation, improved hygiene behaviors, and integration of nutrition into health care services. These activities will incorporate the core tenets of the first 1,000 days approach: 1) provision of conditional food rations to PLWs and children under 2; and 2) access to preventive and curative health and nutrition services for PLWs and children.
JOB SUMMARY
Working in concert with other program stakeholders, the IR 3 Team Lead will develop and provide oversight to the KAP study, formative research, as well as all nutritional analytics.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• In collaboration with consortium partners, will develop and provide technical assistance (TA) to nutritional strategies. These may include mother care groups or peer groups, behavior change messaging campaigns
• Ensures program interventions are integrated with other components of the program and promote linkages across program elements
•Develops and provides TA to consortium regarding interventions to prevent malnutrition and stunting in children under two
• Provides nutritional training to national staff and other stakeholders
• Provides oversight to on-going monitoring of nutritional metrics and impact of activities
• Submits quarterly, mid-term and final technical reports as may be required by the project documents and in a timely manner.
• Develops a capacity building plan in each component, focusing especially on optimal infant and young child feeding and hygiene promotion for local project staff and Ministry of Health (MOH) staff
• Liaises with the MOH officials, the Donor (if subject matter expert input is required), and Amelia staff to build local capacity and foster sustainability
• Liaises with the Ministry of Health to ensure supplementation activities remain in line with Zimbabwe policy and regulations and that the Ministry of Health assumes ownership of the activities.
• Ensures program design and implementation address gender roles within the local society and cultural context as it relates to IR3.
• Documents all processes and outputs of capacity building, coordination and management of activities to ensure a experiences and lessons are well documented for future reference.
Qualifications:
The IMC Team Lead will be a Zimbabwean national with the following skills and experience:
• Master’s degree in nutrition or MPH public health nutrition or SBC with nutrition focus and 5 + years of relevant work experience or Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or relevant social and 10+ years of relevant nutrition-focused work experience
• Zimbabwean citizenship is required
• Possesses demonstrated experience in leadership roles, strategic planning and activity execution, capacity building and budget management.
• Proven analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent writer in English; ability to speak Ndebele
• Solid Social and Behavior Change (SBC) experience; Care group or Peer group experience, and gender experience preferred
• Experience linking nutrition and hygiene with agricultural and livestock programming required
• Experience working in chronic underdevelopment settings where both acute malnutrition and stunting are significant issues of public health concern: strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to take initiative
• Understanding of latest development best practices in nutrition, the 1000-day approach, including WHO changes relating to child growth standards, acute malnutrition and CMAM and latest SBC techniques and tools required

• Ability to speak Ntebele required
CONDITIONS
• Position will be based Biloweyo, but roving to other fiels sites as necessary
