Save the Children is recruiting a new Humanitarian Nutrition Advisor.
This is a permanent role that is preferably based in London (right to work in the UK is required)

As the Humanitarian Nutrition Adviser you will be a member of a dynamic and multisectoral Humanitarian Public Health Team (HPHT), the Save the Children Emergency Nutrition Working Group (ENWG), and the SCUK Humanitarian Nutrition Team with colleagues based all around the world. You will work closely with our development nutrition colleagues and other technical and non-technical staff within SCUK and across the Save the Children Association.

You will:
1. Be active and compelling in representing humanitarian nutrition within different task groups and initiatives within the Save the Children Association;
2. Play a lead role in shaping and implementing the Save the Children’s humanitarian nutrition strategies;
3. Provide technical and program support to SCI Country Offices for the delivery of quality humanitarian nutrition programs;
4. Deploy to set up new emergency nutrition programmes and/or provide technical backstopping as required;
5. Ensure active support to the Global Humanitarian Surge Platform through deployment of humanitarian surge nutrition staff to support new rapid and slow onset emergencies in all level 1, 2 new emergencies and/or the Technical Rapid Response Team Advisor;
6. Support the development and delivery of humanitarian technical capacity development programmes. Capacity development will cover all technical sectors, programme development and leadership, and cross-cutting programme quality issues such as monitoring and evaluation, accountability and integration;
7. Lead the Project Management Team for the design and implementation of the Nourishing the Youngest (IYCF in all contexts) Common Approach learning programs;
8. Support the delivery of quality and accountable humanitarian programmes through the development of best practice programme policies, based on programme learning and innovation. Humanitarian programme policy, innovation and learning is aligned to the delivery of our humanitarian programmes i.e. operational research and learning.
9. Provide cover to the Humanitarian Nutrition Lead when deployed/ as needed.
