The purpose of the consultancy is to assess the quality and effectiveness of emergency nutrition programme in the North-East Nigeria and provide clear and realistic recommendation for improving the quality of the programme, taking into consideration the current context as well as the nexus between emergency and development.
Skills needed are:
• Advanced University Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Epidemiology or Statistics, along with relevant technical knowledge and experience in assessing quality of nutrition emergency response etc.
• At least 5 years’ experience in coordinating and managing programs in emergency context
• Previous experience working with UN agencies is highly desirable, with ability to give an outside perspective
• Fluency in English is required
• Ability to conduct data analyses using Excel or other statistical software (Stata, R, SPSS, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven problem solving skills; to assess situations, identify needs, and respond with recommendations to address identified issues during the course of the assessment
• Willingness to travel and work in the field in insecure areas.
