Call for Applications Action Against Hunger (ACF)-USA is part of the ACF-International Network which works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy. ACF-USA is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following position; NUTRITION PROGRAM MANAGER - DADAAB Reporting to the Nutrition Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for initiating and completing implementation of Nutrition activities to include encouraging exclusive breastfeeding, promoting knowledge and skills appropriate to health workers and refugee population in support of protection and promotion of appropriate IYCN practices, integrating IYCN behaviour change activities in the health and nutrition activities and monitoring distribution of milk donations/products in the camp. S/he will supervise, give adequate technical support and training to the MoH and ACF staff and will be in charge of technical and donor reporting collaborating with ACF-USA teams. The incumbent will be responsible for budget follow up in liaison with the finance department and Nutrition Coordinator. S/he will be collaborating with local authorities, ACF counterparts and partner agencies. Qualifications and Skills required • Bachelors degree in nursing (must be a registered nurse with the nursing council) required OR similar nutritional degree with demonstrated experience in related position.(if nutritionist, should be registered with nutrition and dietetics board of Kenya) • Experience as a Nutrition Program Manager and similar experience in running nutrition treatment programs such as SC/OTP/SFP/IYCN/IFE • Experience in working in camp contexts • Sound expertise in strengthening the capacities of Nutrition personnel • Good knowledge of community dynamics, mobilization and participation • Experience working with national, provincial and local authorities in Kenya • Advanced knowledge in SPSS, Ms Excel, ENA for Smart and Ms Word. • 2-5 years work experience with an international humanitarian agency in a similar capacity • Management skills are essential (e.g. planning and follow up, HR, budgets, etc.) • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and reporting skills. • Fluency in English, with good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work in a Somali Muslim environment with limitations in terms of movement, dress, etc. and ability to manage culturally sensitive issues. • Ability to work independently and in isolation and to work under pressure within strict time limits • Capacity to deal with complex emergency scenarios and make quick decisions. • High degree in motivation, result oriented creativeness and adaptability.
