Between now and 2015, Save the Children are dedicated to supporting the achievement of Millennium Development Goal 4, a two-thirds reduction in the rate of under five mortality. Our nutrition programmes are key to this goal and we are seeking to dramatically expand the scale and impact of our work. We are also significantly scaling up our frontline health & nutrition capacity so that many more children’s lives can be saved in new emergencies and in chronic emergency contexts. Between 2009 and 2011 we reached approximately 750 000 with our emergency health & nutrition programmes. However, by 2014, we aim to have put in place the necessary capacity to reach 1.5 million people with emergency health & emergency nutrition support. This opportunity will support country programmes to design and deliver high quality humanitarian nutrition programmes, including supporting emergency preparedness and capacity building and providing surge and desk support for new emergency nutrition programmes. The role will be split as follows: *Support to Humanitarian contexts (New Emergencies and Fragile States) (50%) *Technical Capacity Building and HR (30%) *Emergency Preparedness (10%) *Advocacy & Representation (10%) We see you bringing to the role significant experience and a track record of success in delivering high quality humanitarian nutrition response programmes (both new emergencies and fragile states), with exposure to humanitarian programme development and fundraising from institutional donors. In return we offer the opportunity to develop your career in an organisation committed to the achievement of Millennium Development Goal 4.
