Dear Partners,
ACF, in collaboration with Save the Children, Concern Worldwide, International Medical Corps and Helen Keller International, are pleased to inform you that the Coverage Monitoring Network (CMN) project has been officially launched. The CMN project offers technical support to nutrition programmes worldwide in the design, implementation and analysis of coverage assessments. The project offers technical advisors at no cost to partners, whose contribution is expected on all logistical/practical costs of these assessments. In order for the project to be able to support the highest number of nutrition programmes and ensure that advisors are available where and when needed, we are inviting nutrition organisations to contact us at the earliest possible convenience. Please address your requests for technical support to Saul Guerrero (s.guerrero@actionagainsthunger.org.uk) indicating the location of the assessment and preferred dates (September 2012 – December 2013)
Best regards
Saul
Over the last couple of days we have received a fair number of important questions regarding the CMN project. The following should help clarify some of the key issues raised:
1.Valid International will play a central role in this project; from coordinating Workshops and inter-agency trainings, to providing technical support to the Regional Coverage Advisors for the duration of the project. Their input on the architecture of the project has already proven key, and we look forward to their continuing involvement in the delivery of the project.
2.The project has a global reach; CMAM programmes anywhere in the world can request technical support from the Regional Coverage Advisors (RECOs). The project has five (5) dedicated RECOs covering East, Central, West and Southern Africa, as well as Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean.
3.Regional training will take the form of inter-agency, on-the-job trainings; these are expected to take place in Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Kenya and Bangladesh between September 2012 and January 2013.
If you have any questions/queries about the project, or would like to request technical support in the design, implementation and/or analysis of coverage surveys and assessments, please email me Saul Guerrero (s.guerrero@actionagainsthunger.org,uk) or to our new project address at (cmnproject@actionagainsthunger.org.uk)
