In one of our CMAM projects in a chronically high GAM rate setting that has been ongoing for a long time, we are being asked to only have a protection ration for SFP but not OPT, which seems inconsistent. In addition, our newer nutritionist there is considering that it may soon be time to end the protection ration all together since it is ultimately not sustainable and this has been a long-term program that we foresee continuing for a long time to come. We wanted to know if there is any scientific evidence for the effectiveness of using protection rations for OTP to help us either advocate for it or determine whether to have protection rations in the future. Thank you!
