Hi all, We are going to implement a one-year nutrition pilot project in the Peri-urban area of Yangon. The aim of the project is to increase our understanding of the Infant and Young child feeding issues affecting Peri-urban communities and increasing the knowledge of practice amongst mothers of appropriate IYCF and decreasing the use of BMS. Another aspect of the project is linked with maternity rights and improves our understanding of the issues working mothers of infant and young children are facing. I am looking for any relevant publications/resources and experiences related to this matter. Thanks in advance for sharing, GĂ©raldine
From Wendy Hammond: Dear Geraldine, The FANTA-2 publication on infant and young child feeding practices in Vietnam may be of interest: http://www.ennonline.net/resources/899. You may also find useful information on the Alive & Thrive (http://aliveandthrive.org) and LINKAGES Project (http://www.linkagesproject.org/publications/index.php) websites. Kind regards, Wendy Hammond

Geraldine, I recently reviewed a paper which looked at the beliefs surrounding infant feeding in Myanmar. It was well executed research and contained much useful information about beliefs that might result in poor feeding practice. I shall contact the editors and ask when it might be published (and whether perhaps it might be possible fo the authors to send you a copy of the manuscript before then) because I think it would be very helpful to you. Can you tell me who you are working with?

Hi Geraldine, If you email me karleeng@uws.edu.au I will pass your email onto the journal. The journal has then agreed to pass your email onto the authors and hopefully they will be amenable to sending you information about this research.
