Technical advice in relation to UNICEF procurement of nutrition supplies: 2. Prepare and maintain technical specifications for health and nutrition products supplied 3. by Supply Division. 4. Technical adjudication of nutritional supplies in acquisition process. 5. Screens requests and sales orders for their technical compliance including any regulatory and IP rights when appropriate. 6. Market research on nutrition supplies. Assist with reviewing documentation for database information on sources and prices for nutrition products. 7. Assists with drafting interagency or nutrition cluster reports and documents. 8. Prepare analyses of UNICEF supplies, background information, recommendations for improving the suitability and range of products, resulting in more appropriate supplies, better delivery and lower costs. 9. Take active part in Supply Division’s team on health and nutritional commodities and support other Centres with technical advice as appropriate. 10. Provide support to UNICEF country offices in review of requirements for supply, storage, and distribution of nutrition supplies, 11. Prepare technical guidance relating to supply and utilization of products in support of child health. 12. Review the distribution chain and stock situation in individual countries. Assist with forecasting of supplies and identification of necessary action for supply adjustments. 13. Develop partnerships to improve delivery performance within the nutrition supply chain, coordinating with relevant SD centres, CO’s, RO’s as well as other partners working in nutrition. Qualifications of Successful Candidate Advanced university degree in Nutrition, Pharmacy, Food Technology or relevant technical field, with background experience on medicines or nutrition supplies.* Eight years progressively responsible professional work experience relevant to commodity group, with knowledge in the areas of product development, manufacturing, institutional purchasing of nutritional products and management of country nutrition programmes. Experience in an International organization, United Nations or NGO desirable. Fluency in English and another UN language. Knowledge of French an advantage. *A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
