Hi everyone,
Are you aware of any indicators/tools to assess IYCF knowledge and attitude besides the FAO KAP tools? We were looking for some indicators that we can use in the logframe (output level) beyond counting only the numbers of people reached with specific activities. Since we couldn’t find anything specific (only some suggestions), we are now trying to standardize or formulate a new indicator with the core knowledge and attitude-related questions and would love to get your perspective.
Hello
There exist a newly developed BFHI tool to assess competencies, attitudes and knowledge and skills. I could establish a contact with the developers in case there is a need.
COMPETENCY VERIFICATION TOOLKIT in english and french
Competency verification toolkit: Ensuring competency of direct care providers to implement the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (who.int) english or here Competency verification toolkit: Ensuring competency of direct care providers to implement the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (who.int)

2 years agoHello thanks a lot for your question. It is really important.
I would like to suggest maybe you explain a bit more...but
1. the FAO KAP tools do not only count women reached by a specific activity...there are several/mutiple information related to the knowlegde and attitude of caregivers related to IYCF...so that is really a good guide to firm up your KAP indicators based on what you need....
2. when you look at knowledge and attitudes there several KAP survey tools that were designed and used by various agencies in various contexts (these are just examples available on the net)

b) https://www.spring-nutrition.org/sites/default/files/publications/tools/spring_context_assessment_tools_all.pdf
c) several peer-reviewed articles were also published, that could help answer your questions:

also, there could be something of interest in the GNC Global Indicator Registry;

Thanks and I hope it is helpful
