Objective:               

Conduct a review of existing community platforms that can be leveraged to increase access to wasting and other nutrition services.

Specific objectives:

  • Identify and describe the major characteristics of the community health system in Papua New Guinea
  • Define the characteristic of each platform in terms of:
    • Service package (all services)
    • Mode of delivery
    • Scope for inclusion
  • Gaps in Direct Nutrition Interventions
  • Describe the level of operation and functionality of the major community health systems
    • Coverage and scale
    • Policy and governance (including financing)
    • Programme characteristics (CHW AIM)
    • Effectiveness
  • Analysis: identify the important community health systems most appropriate for the integration of nutrition services.
