The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of two years. Employment location will be Khartoum, Sudan.

As M&E Coordinator (Nutrition) in Sudan, you are expected to play a leading role in the implementation of high-quality programs and contribute to the goal of achieving Zero Hunger by 2030. The M&E Coordinator (Nutrition) is responsible for guiding the overall M&E strategy in collaboration with the Country Director and the Head of Programmes and for the implementation of all related activities within the projects. This entails close collaboration with all involved in M&E design and implementation: Heads of Projects, project staff in general and project M&E staff in specific, but also the Programme Team on Country Office level and the MELA unit on Head Office level. The M&E Coordinator (Nutrition) will also have a background in nutrition and take a lead in developing appropriate targets and indicators to integrate nutrition activities into current and planned programming.

Your responsibilities

- Integrate a nutrition-focus into WHH Sudan’s programming
- Oversee ongoing development of the Sudan Monitoring Framework with long-term development towards Learning and Accountability, whereas the current model focuses on monitoring and evaluation
- Support and guide project-level M&E planning/designing and implementation: support the design of baselines and monitoring plans, ensure the budgeting of monitoring activities, review and revise monitoring tools and templates
- Developing a plan for project-related capacity building on M&E. Organising and/or undertaking monitoring trainings (also refresher trainings) for project and implementing partner staff, local organisations and beneficiaries
- Follow-up on global WHH monitoring initiatives (e.g. #ms, digital data gathering, remote monitoring, etc.) and on external trends
- Undertake frequent field visits to support design, implementation and adaption of project monitoring. Join external monitoring and evaluation missions
- Support staff in drafting progress/monitoring reports, analyse these reports in terms of problems and actions needed
- Introduce qualitative monitoring and foster participatory planning and monitoring
- Support the design and implementation of evaluations (including ToR development) and identify lessons learned and implications for the projects next steps
- Represent WHH at relevant coordination mechanisms at the Khartoum level

Your profile

- A university or polytechnic degree in nutrition, agriculture, project management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of combined experience in nutrition-related project management and M&E, preferably in the region
- Coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
- Ability to work in a multinational team
- Excellent communication skills and intercultural sensibility
- Fluency in English is required. Arabic skills would be an asset
