It intervenes in 40 countries and implements nutrition and health, food security, water sanitation and hygiene, and advocacy programmes. On the international level, Action contre la Faim is also present in Paris, London, Madrid, New York and Montreal. http://www.actioncontrelafaim.org/ We are looking for: A MEDICO-NUTRITION COORDINATOR Country: India Length of Contract: 12 months from April 2011 General objective: To support the Head of Mission in developing and implementing the technical and operational country strategy. Responsibilities: - To guarantee technical support for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating nutrition programmes in India. - To assist the HOM in identifying and developing the partnerships needed to implement the mission strategy. - To continuously collect and analyse information on the nutrition and health situation in the country and especially the 2 states targeted. - To produce technical analysis, reports and proposals. - To ensure sound coordination/smooth interaction between nutrition and other team members. - To represent ACF at national level in nutrition and health technical meetings. Qualification and previous experience: Nutritionist, medical doctor or nurse with nutrition specialisation and experience (Masters in Public health nutrition or in public health with nutrition experience, PhD desirable). Minimum five years field experience in nutrition programmes, Experience in working in mid term/development oriented type of programmes. Excellent proposal writing experience. Ability to have a broad vision integrating different aspects, Capacity to assess, analyse and make suggestions in a complex environment. Diplomacy skills / Patience with a strong capacity to overcome creatively the administrative/intercultural/political and social hurdles. Computer proficiency in word processing, database, spreadsheet and graphics presentations. Fully fluent in English .
