About the role: This is a 12 month new role with unaccompanied terms based in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh at Volunteer salary of €10,034
The position will contribute to Concern’s multi-sectoral Rohingya emergency response through the development and design of new programmes and proposals, high quality internal and external reports, and grant management.
We would like you to start as soon as possible.
Your purpose: The PSO is a multi-faceted entry level position based in Cox’s Bazar, liaising with different functions and teams to support the Rohingya Emergency Response. The PSO will support programme design, preparation of programme proposals and donor reports, setting up and maintaining knowledge management systems within Concern emergency interventions with Rohingya communities, and to provide necessary documentation support to the Concern Cox’s Bazar management team and country management team as requested.
Some of your key responsibility:
Programme Design :
•Work with Emergency Director (ED) and Emergency Managers (EM) and emergency teams to design programmes and prepare project concept notes, proposals, stakeholder analysis and logical frameworks as an integral part of the programme planning team and process working with Rohingya refugees and host communities.
•With Concern Cox’s Bazar management team, monitor, liaise and actively seek funding opportunities with different donors, foundations and communicate ED and EM’s to plan for proposal submission.
•Assist in writing proposals, case studies etc for submission to donors.
Monitoring
•Provide Support in Monitoring Project Objectives; Support Research, Learning and Knowledge Management within the Project
•Provide knowledge input on proposed Concern studies and research methods aimed at strengthening the programme evidence base in CXB interventions
•Assist in identifying areas where technical assistance will be required, support the preparation of terms of reference (TOR)’s for short-term consultancies, and provide technical support to the ED and management team.
Donors & Resource mobilisation
•Support CXB management maintaining a donor database and reporting schedule.
•Prepare internal and external reports to donors and local Government; quality reports for donors and Concern HQ and internal monitoring.
•Mobilize and communicate with possible donor and partners, prepare substantive funding applications and think creatively regarding possible areas of collaboration and cost sharing;
Capacity Development Stakeholder’s & Partners :
•Promote the integration of best practices into project activities, including active participation and communication with Concern HO.
•Work collaboratively with partners and local government towards best practices into existing project and management approaches;
•Assist the team in implementing capacity-development strategy where necessary
Communications and Learning
•Develop programme updates papers and case studies.
•In conjunction with the emergency director prepare briefing and/or position papers
•Support staff to improve writing skills, photography, information management and case study development.
•Liaise with and link to Dhaka Support Communication Coordinator in preparing and developing communication materials for local and international Public relations.
Reports & Communications
•Assist the CXB management and Bangladesh team to develop country specific papers and reports for profile building and advocacy
•Support the CXB management Team and partners in the development of reports, case studies and other relevant documentation.
Your skills and experience will include:
Essential:
•Master’s Degree in development/humanitarian studies or similar field
•At least 1 to 2 years practical experience working in development field with NGO preferably in overseas field
•Proven experience of programme design and proposal writing
•Proven experience of high quality report writing
•Experience with and knowledge of the main donor (EC/ECHO/USAID) and UN funding mechanisms
•Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements:
•Fluent in English, both verbal and written
•Familiar with the project management cycle
•Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences
•Good knowledge and competence of computer applications i.e. Microsoft Office Professional
Desirable:
•Experience working in Bangladesh or Asia
•Experience or knowledge of working in previous ‘L3 Emergencies’
