About the role:
This is a 12 month unaccompanied role with terms based in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh at Grade 4 and a salary range €39,219 - €43,577. You will report to the Emergency Programme Manager and work closely with the Nutrition Programme Coordinator and the National Nutrition Advisor. We would like you to start as soon as possible.
Your purpose:
The Nutrition Advisor – Rohingya Emergency Response is responsible for providing technical direction to the ongoing emergency nutrition response programme, in order to deliver high quality project activities, which impact on the lives of Rohingya displaced communities and result in lasting positive change. This position will lead in designing, planning and coordination of the emergency nutrition interventions, policy engagement, advocacy outcomes and strengthen the relevant capacity at the Rohingya Emergency Response Program
Some of your responsibilities will be:
1. Technical Representation & Networking
•Providing technical representation, coordination and leadership to the activities of the Nutrition Sector and the associated working groups including, but not limited to:
•Providing leadership to the he Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) Working Group in Cox’s Bazar in order to coordinate and support activities of partners in the response.
•Leading on development of tools, guidance notes, response plans, and other initiatives of the sector and working groups.
2. Nutrition Programming & Strategy
•Ensuring the Nutrition in the Emergency project strategy is delivered with maximum efficiency.
•Providing overall leadership, strategic guidance and technical advice to the emergency nutrition program.
•Ensuring the Project Implementation plan is developed jointly with donors/partners and delivered timely and effectively to ensure sustainability of the project interventions beyond project end.
3. Ensure consistency with Concern’s policies, strategies, etc.:
•Ensure that nutrition programmes are designed in such a way as to reduce risk and vulnerability and inequalities among the beneficiary population and that disaster risk reduction issues are considered.
4. Training & Capacity Development
•Develop the capacity of the Nutrition in Emergency Project team to deliver high quality support that would be a force to tackle poverty.
•Ensuring that staff are adequately trained and developed for their roles e.g. by analyzing staff training needs, organizing the delivery of training or coaching, providing training, and coordinating the sharing of experience, with a focus on CMAM and IYCF-E.
5. Programme Development & Design:
•Ensuring that the necessary resources are available for the project and utilized effectively to implement high quality project for bringing positive change in the life of beneficiaries.
•Leading the development of proposals, concept notes, and budgets and provide support to field teams in writing and/or reviewing funding proposals and donor reports.
•Ensuring budgets and financial resource planning are in place for all activities within the project.
Your skills and experience will include:
Essential:
•Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Public Health Nutrition or clinical degree with MPH
•At least 4 years of progressively responsible work experience in the area of CMAM and IYCF-E programming, with a minimum of 2 years working internationally in technical management in the nutrition sector
•Experience in emergency settings, especially with refugee populations
•Experience in donor relation, proposal development (UNICEF Programme cooperation agreements (PCA), WFP FLA, and pool fund etc)
•Demonstrable experience in program design, and budget formulation, monitoring, reporting
•Experience working with a cluster, the Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) and the Technical Working Group (TWG) in emergencies
•Sound strategic thinking and planning skills, including the ability to think creatively and innovate and to set priorities, manageable work plans and evaluate progress
Desirable:
•Experience working in Bangladesh and in Emergency Camp Settings
