Summary
The IYCF SUPERVISOR Coordinate activities at the community level and maintain cooperation with other institutions at community level, the village council, Sheiks, Traditional Healers, and TBA, Meet with the local leadership committee in each community bi-weekly for coordination, monitoring and evaluation, identify CGP capacities and coordinate trainings based on need and program goals, Play Models leadership to all CGP and intentionally develops the leadership potential of the CGP and Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by Care Group promoters. This is a community based position and requiring frequently traveling within community locations.
Specific Duties:
Ensure observance and respect the dignity of beneficiaries, careers and members of the community at all times.
Coordinate the lead mother activities maximum supervision of CGP at community level.
Meet with the local leadership committee in each community bi-weekly for coordination, monitoring and evaluation.
Facilitate organized, participatory learning sessions with each of their 10-15 CGP (in Care Groups) groups every two weeks, following the lesson plans in the educational materials provided.
Attend Bi-Weekly Training and Reporting Meetings provided by the CG Promoter Supervisor and the Module Training Sessions to accurately replicate trainings received with CGP sharing correct information and demonstrating skills learned.
Model the health, nutrition, and sanitation behaviors they are teaching to CGP
Visit, monitor, and evaluate each CGP at least monthly. Supervise the work of CGP by accompanying them on home visits to Neighbor Women and observing them providing group instruction.
Assist with other program activities such as: National Vaccination Days, distribution of Vitamin A and de-worming medicine, weighing of children <5years of age, etc.
Attend training and coordination meetings at the LGA office, providing verbal and written reports of activities completed.
Collect CGP reports on a monthly basis, review the reports and assure the information presented is reasonable and complete.
Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by CGP
Maintain a filing system in the project office so copies of CGP Reports are easily accessible.
Responsible to supervise each CGP who reports to her in the field at least twice a month,

Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Nutrition Dietetics, BSc or equivalent health qualifications from recognized university/institution;
Two years post NYSC or discharge certificate experience in nutrition work and implementation of nutrition intervention programs, including community mobilization, monitoring and evaluation aspects;
2 years working experiences in implementing nutrition program mostly IYCF/CMAM
Understanding of nutritional surveillance and information systems
Proven ability and experience in planning and conducting formal training session on nutrition including CMAM and IYCF
Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach local staff and community workers.
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with children and their care takers
Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions
Ability to deal with relations with local authorities as a Nutrition representative of IMC in the working areas
Ability to integrate into the local environment including awareness of political, religious and economic aspects of the community
Excellent inter and intra personal skills to ensure consistent positive relations with key stakeholders
Strong report writing and computer skills
National position with Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa
Commitment to and understanding of IMC’s aims, values and principles.
