Name Average Annual Reduction Rate - stunting

Can anyone help me understand the concept of Average Annual Reduction Rate (AARR) and how AARR is calculated? As far as I understand, AARR is used to gauge the progress of a country towards its nutrition targets ( for example: reduction in stunting).
More information and reference materials would be appreciated.
