The average acceptable length of stay in SC is 5-7 days. Except for medical complications and if the child's appetite has not improved.

SC stabilization Center stay times are usually 5-7 days and where possible OTP to receive them should be in place. Otherwise it can't be said to be a full CMAM programme. Even TSFP and community mobilization should be integrated as CMAM package with IYCF or IYCF _E.  For further information please refer to these WHO guidelines :

The accepted days of stay in the SC, are 5-7 days, others can be as well discharged in four days, as long as they meet the "Exit Criteria" and referred for OTP....
We don't wait for the days but the response to treatment and meeting the criteria approved by WHO and UNICEF is the Appropriate measure of days, but remember all children staying in the SC for more than those days should be thoroughly examine by a Nutritionist and a Medical Doctor.
