We are looking for a:
A ROVING NUTRITION & HEALTH EXPERT - ASIA
(Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Pakistan)

Context: The overall mission of this position is to perform successively short technical support/mentoring missions in different countries, as well as to provide technical support including in the development of technical tools and materials for the Asia programs. The variety of situations requires theoretical and practical experience in Nutrition and Health with ACF and/or other NGOs. It also represents an opportunity to work in different contexts and to rapidly acquire new experiences and professional skills

Country: Home based in Asia with travel up to 60% to including but not limited to India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Indonesia

Length of Contract: 12 Months starting in January 2017

The Position: Under the supervision of the Regional Nutrition & Health Advisor for Asia, you will be responsible to technically support nutrition and health country teams in coordinating activities of Action Contre la Faim in the fields of Nutrition and Health. More precisely, you will be in charge:

To work to enhance the technical quality of nutrition and health interventions in Asia
• Evaluate the country team technical skills and needs in nutrition and health with the support of country teams and the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor
• In collaboration with the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor, design a comprehensive training strategy in nutrition and health for each country team
• Facilitate or co-facilitate training for the teams on quality nutrition and health interventions notably on one or more of the following interventions Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Reproductive Maternal New-born and Child Health (RMNCH), Health System Strengthening (HSS), Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), Standardised Monitoring and Assessment in Relief and Transition (SMART), Coverage surveys (SQUEAC/SLEAC).

To mentor and/or fill in the gap of the nutrition and health teams in Asia
• In collaboration with the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor, encourage country teams to strategically identify new possibilities for key relevant nutrition and health interventions
• Assess and/or build the capacity with each country team to assess the nutrition and health situation
Design and write or support and accompany to design and write quality nutritional and medical proposals submitted by the teams
• Encourage and support developing integrated (inter-disciplinary) approach programmes
• Evaluate and/or enhance the team capacity to monitor and evaluate the nutrition and health programs
• Support the knowledge capitalization and lessons learned documentation of the innovations achieved
• In the event of a gap in recruitment, support the country team in filling the position for a short period of time after consultation and approval of the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor for Asia.
• Alert the regional Nutrition and Health Advisor on technical gaps and issues as seen in the field in the nutrition and health programs
In consultation with the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor for Asia, provide remote technical support to nutrition and health teams
• Upon the request and guidance of the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor for Asia, provide remote technical support to country teams on specific files in nutrition and health
• Support the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor for Asia by validating technical documents such as SMART and SQUEAC methodology protocols and reports with back and forth exchanges with the country teams

In consultation with the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor for Asia, help elaborate e-learning and audio-visual training material, reports and tools to improve nutrition and health programs
• Work on enhancing and elaborating e-learning and audio-visual training materials, reports and tools to improve nutrition and health programs in Asia in collaboration with the Regional Nutrition and Health Advisor and the country Nutrition and Health teams
• Research and work on developing technical files in consultation and collaboration with the Regional Nutrition and Health advisor for Asia

The Applicant: You hold a Master degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing or Medicine with 5 years minimum of field experience in the coordination of nutrition programmes, in emergencies and in developmental contexts.
You are recognized for your technical expertise in CMAM, SMART, SQUEAC and your good writing capacities. You have also a good knowledge and experience in Health System Strengthening, and have the ability to train and coach your team with efficacy.
Excellent diplomacy, negotiation and representation skills are required thus team management experience.
You are also able to manage stress in complicated security environment.
You are able to work in English context (Fluent in English required).

Gross monthly salary ranging from €1805 to €2305 depending on relevant experience
Specific “Roving Allowance” of 15% Gross Salary
Job content varies from intervention situations (3 months of assignment maximum)
Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective accommodation and medical insurance
25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year
