For phase 1 treatment, I wouldn't recommend diluted RUTF to replace F75 or F100, as it contains iron wich is not recommanded in the first days of treatment for complicated malnutrition (iron is not well absorbed because of low transferrine level and presence of free iron in the blood is toxic and can also increase development of bacterial infection).

Morning,
we used to give diluted Plumpy nut during the F75 milk shortage. I wouldn't recommend it for Phase One ( for Iron, hygiene....) that the part of water is not known in the dilution. Anyway, recombined F75 milk with local ingredients gave us best clinical, nutritional and social results.

As we know the main aim of phase one treatment is to solve medical problems and metabolic disturbance to stabilize patient's medical condition so F75 plays a role in these stabilization activities. During this phase there is no need for more weight gain, so plumpy nut can act as F100 but not F75. This means it can't be used for SAM cases with complications during phase one.
