When administering HDDS qeustions,

The questions refer to the household as a whole, not any single member of the household. (FANTA: Household Dietary Diversity Score Indicator Guide (Swindale and Bilinsky, 2006)

(OR)

The respondent is asked about all foods eaten inside the home during the previous day and night, by ANY member of the household. (FAO guidelines for measuring household and individual dietary diversity (FAO, 2007))

Hi Nick,
On this point, the two guides are the same, the questions refer to foods eaten by ANY member of the household. The questions are formulated as ''Now I would like to ask you about the types of foods that you or anyone else in your household ate yesterday during the day and at night'' (Page 8, III-Questionnaire format).
