From Jona Toetzke of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA):
Dear ENN community,
I am part of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) and engaged in a thematic discussion that is currently ongoing at the links below. As the SuSanA community mainly comprises of people from the WASH sector, for a cross-cutting issue like WASH & Nutrition, it is mostly fruitful to also consider views from nutritionists.
I would therefore like to invite you to take part and share your experiences and perspectives about if and how best to integrate those two sectors.
Especially in terms of integrated policy making, the WASH sector could learn from the nutrition framework of SUN countries. What are recommendations from you for the WASH community? What are possible incentives to better link the sector policies?
Thanks a lot for your feedback! http://forum.susana.org/forum/categories/246-theme-3-progressing-the-agenda--what-do-we-want-to-achieve/17663-wash-and-nutrition-the-challenges-of-policymaking
Best,
Jona
Please join the discussion through the SuSanA links above. We can then report back a summary of the discussion on en-net.
Hi Jona,
I think there are some good examples of this in country. For example in Ethiopia at a local woreda level multisectoral platforms are being created in some places for all sectors to come together and plan interventions strategically. This includes ensuring a strong link between WASH and nutrition through bcc and provision of clean water. Happy to catch up on this in due course but strong collaboration and clear reporting indicators are two areas I think are critical to this working.
Cara.

8 years ago Lyseconcept develops a biotechnological concept sewage treatment and wastewater recycling that eliminates completely the fecal matter.
The waste water outlet of the process "Organic Fosse" lyseconcept contains fine particles of organic matter in suspension and active bacterial flora that make a nutrient for the soil
The purifying performance of the method "Biological Fosse" lyseconcept is 90% above ground supplemented by vegetated outlet that purifies him the floor of diffuse pollution such as: urea ammonia nitrate nitrogen phosphate potash etc, which gives to all a performance purification of more than 98%
The concept comes in the form of project
- Individual housing Sanitation
- The CEBRE, blueprint Biological agglomeration Sanitation. it removes the infrastructure of the collection network and the treatment plant of traditional collective sanitation agglomerations
- The Revaluation PROJECT Wastewater for Biological Agriculture Productive on farms in Africa Senegal Cameroon Burkina Burundi Benin Ivory Coast Mali Mauritania Niger RCA DRC Congo Guinea Conakry Sierra Leone Gabon Mayotte India Montenegro Kenya Uganda etc.
- The draft Upgrading wastewater - vegetated Biodiversity. He fights against soil erosion while encouraging the creation of firewall green areas.
- The project of water-recycling Food Bank for honorary reintegration into the world of work
- The project Recycling water for a water use reduction
The AB has a pedagogical action to preserve the environment
