Job Title: Senior Nutrition Advisor
Job Location: Dublin or London with up to 30% overseas travel.

Job Purpose: To support quality programming for improved nutrition and community resilience and promote the generation and sharing of related evidence and learning within Concern and beyond.
Main duties & responsibilities: • Provide technical support to Concern country programme teams in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes to improve nutrition and community resilience in disaster-prone contexts. This involves field visits and remote support as well as developing strong working relationships with staff across the organisation. Focal areas of country support will include but are not limited to: social and behaviour change; nutrition M&E; integration of nutrition with WASH, livelihoods and gender equality; and building emergency preparedness and timely response.
• Build the technical capacity of Concern country teams through formal training, remote mentoring, and production and sharing of key technical resources. This may include assessing technical needs, developing capacity development plans and compiling training resources and opportunities.
• Provide technical oversight for nutrition information management within Concern, including SMART surveys and other programme M&E data – in collaboration with other technical advisers.
• Synthesise and document practical evidence and learning from our programmes; identify ways to apply it in a timely fashion; and to share more widely to improve policy and practice within and beyond Concern.
• Support and develop relationships with other agencies, including research institutes and represent Concern in national, regional and international fora as relevant.
• As required, support recruitment of country programme staff, support development of programme proposals and engage in multi-sectoral/ inter-departmental initiatives such as staff induction, M&E guidance, etc.
• Potentially be deployed to support emergency responses for up to six weeks
Specifications:
Essential:
• Post-graduate qualification in nutrition, public health or agriculture/ food security or equivalent;
• At least three years’ experience working in programmes related to nutrition in emergency and/or development contexts, including some experience with CMAM;
• Willing to travel overseas for at least 30% of working time;
• Competent in quantitative survey methods (e.g. SMART), monitoring and evaluation and basic data analysis;
• Familiarity with social and behaviour change approaches;
• Ability to communicate and write well in English;
• Work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
• Adaptable to evolving work priorities and schedules;
• Keen to learn and promote learning.
Desirable:
• Ability to work in French is highly desirable
• Experience working in integrated, multi-sectoral programmes e.g. nutrition and livelihoods, health, WASH, gender;
• Experience supporting infant and young child feeding, particularly in emergencies;
• Experience in operational research design and principles.
