REQUEST FOR CURRICULUM VITAE’S FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANTS (IC) COUNTRY/ GRANTEE: Concern Worldwide in Zambia NAME OF PROJECT: Zambia Female Youths Livelihood and Nutrition Enhancement Project Position: Project Coordinator based in Mongu with travel Loan No. / Credit No. /TF No. / Grant No. TF081487 Request for CVs: IC/30/07/001 Concern is implementing the Zambia Female Youths Livelihood and Nutrition Enhancement Project (FYNEP) in collaboration with the World Bank with funding from the Japanese Social Development Fund. The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve access to livelihood opportunities and nutrition among selected female youths in targeted project areas. The project has 4 main components; a life skills curriculum to increase control and knowledge around life choices and nutrition, a livelihoods component focussed on agricultural livelihoods related to improved nutrition, a health component to directly support pre-conception nutrition and nutrition outreach. The project is implemented in close coordination with government at the Provincial and District level and through a National level Steering Committee chaired by the Ministry of Community Development Mother Child Health (MCDMCH). This project will benefit an estimated 24,600 persons in Limulunga and Kaoma Districts, through different project activities and started on the 1st July 2015 with a three year duration. Concern Worldwide Zambia now invites eligible Individual Consultants to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CVs) for the position of Project Coordinator. The main objective of this consultancy is to provide technical and management support so as to facilitate timely and good quality implementation of the Zambia Female Youth Livelihood and Nutrition Enhancement Project (FYNEP) in line with the proposal, implementation guide, work-plan, grant agreement and budget. Specific Tasks • Facilitate situation analysis to identify opportunities and barriers to project objectives, particularly related to community mobilization, gender, context specific agriculture best practices and issues specific to female youth. • Ensure that project activities are implemented and managed in line with agreed work plan and budget. Review project budget periodically. • Facilitate programme start up workshops at different levels (at provincial, district and community level). • Ensure proper beneficiary targeting and registration of all of the beneficiaries for the project is in place. • Support partners to establish girls groups and identify peer group leaders. • Assist with recruitment and oversee work of consultants for; evaluation design, developing life skills curriculum, nutrition coordinator, monitoring and evaluation support officer and permaculture design and implementation. • Support the firm contracted to conduct the baseline data collection. • Ensure all project materials are finalised and printed. • Support recruitment of Project Support Officers (PSOs) and provide ongoing management and supervisory support. • Organize or conduct initial training of trainers to Community Development Facilitators (CDFs), Programme Support Officers (PSOs) and relevant partner staff. • Follow up with procurement plan to ensure quality goods and services in place in a timely manner. • In Collaboration with PM&E support officer and other relevant staff facilitate development of M&E plan and database for the project. Ensure monitoring database is populated with data and analysed on a regular basis • Conduct regular field visits for monitoring purposes. • Produce quality and timely monthly and six monthly reports. • To adhere to and support the implementation of the Concern Programme Participant Protection Policy. Qualifications and Experience • At least a Master’s Degree in Development Studies, Nutrition, Gender, social science, public health or other community development related fields; • Have demonstrable experience of working with adolescent girls and/or in the field of nutrition with a focus on the first 1000 days and/or on gender issues, • Extensive experience in project management and leading on the start-up phase of the project, • Experience of budgeting, activity planning, monitoring, and reporting at the right scale and experience of working on life skills development, curriculum development and working in partnership with government and civil society, Timeframe This consultancy is with immediate start and will run for a minimum of 3 months with extension available for up to 30 months.
