Action Contre la Faim is looking for a consultant position on writing an Operational Manual for promoting the WASH in Nutrition Strategy
The links between the sanitary environment, the infections and the nutritional status of a person benefited in the last 10 years of more and more scientific evidences. Since 2010, prominent actors of the WASH and Nutrition sector, such as UNICEF, ECHO, as well as practitioners like ACF decided to pilot an operational strategy aiming at preventing undernutrition, especially in its most dramatic form (acute undernutrition) through relevant and effective water, sanitation and hygien interventions. This “WASH in Nut” strategy mainly implemented in the West and Central Africa Region needs now to be disseminated and put at scale among practitioners, donors, and above all WASH Nutrition and Health local institutions.
One way to promote this positive momentum and extend it to a higher coverage is to produce an operational manual, translated in English, French and Spanish, that will clarify the strategic concepts around nutrition security achieved through WASH programming and propose concrete activities and tools to achieve that, strongly illustrated by recent programmes good practices.
ACF looks for a consultant position starting 15/09/2015, to write in English or in French a 50 pagers manual (annexe included), in close coordination with the main stakeholders (ECHO, UNICEF, WHO, other INGOs) and to support formally the manual roll out strategy.
