Fixed term contract until end of January 2016 Full time, 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE) The Business, Markets and the State (BMAS) Cluster at IDS is recruiting a Research Officer who will contribute to two complementary research programmes focused on analysing market-based approaches and their potential to reduce poverty, improve human nutrition and contribute to human development. This is an opportunity to join an exciting and interdisciplinary team at IDS that is building systematic, robust and critical understandings of the roles of businesses and markets in development, and identifying how market systems can be transformed towards more equitable and sustainable outcomes. This position offers experience in and exposure to a fast-evolving area of development policy and research, and involves working with colleagues across IDS and some external stakeholders. It would appeal to candidates considering careers in policy-relevant research, development agencies, social enterprise or non-governmental organizations.
