We are looking for: AN EXPERT EPIDEMIOLOGIST Country: Based in LIBERIA - Monrovia (Montserrado County with frequent trip to Bomi County) on Ebola emergency and base opening context. Taking into account its experience in and its presence in the communities, ACF play a role in the following fields: sensitization of the communities, contact tracking and provision of appropriate hygiene measures, food aid and mental health and care practices. If you want to know more about Ebola Emergency Response of ACF, visit our blog: http://blog.actioncontrelafaim.org/ebola Length of Contract: 3 months, starting as soon as possible The position: Your responsibilities: Epidemiology /Ebola contact tracing: • Strengthen data management system of contact tracing activity, including liaison with different stakeholders (County Health Team, Consortium partners, NGOs); • Review and monitor program activities monitoring and evaluation system, including design of database for contact-tracing, mapping • Build team capacities of the Program (PM, and field team ) in program M&E; • Provide technical expertise and recommendations on the ongoing approach program (pertinence of the methodology used in regard to epidemiology evidence on EVD); • Review program reports and support statistic and graphic analysis skill building for the PM; • Supervise the set-up of Surveillance, Case investigation and Contact-tracing in Bomi County; • Participate to decision-making regarding program adjustment/ evolution. Nutrition: • Monitor nutrition surveillance system at community level, through Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) team in Montserrado county and Hygiene/Health nutrition promoters in Bomi; • Produce reports and analysis on collected data to determine strategic positioning of ACF in post crisis phase, and needs for nutrition program adjustment; • Review activity reports for nutrition programs in Montserrado and Bomi, and support nut PMs for reporting on activities and analysis; • Assist teams with data management; • Monitor nutrition programs results to evaluate pertinence and sustainability, in the fast evolving context of EVD epidemic; • Overseas IPC aspects of the program and provide technical expertise according to observations. The applicant: You hold a Medical Doctor Degree with expertise in Public Health, Epidemiology and Humanitarian Field with at least 2 years minimum of experience. Recognized for your capacity to work in different levels of coordination, you have developed excellent diplomatic communication, organizational skills and team management. Good experience in coordination with other organizations, local partners and government is necessary. You are also able to manage stress linked to Ebola outbreak and precaution requirements. Previous experience in Liberia would be an advantage. Fluent in English required.
