The post is for a Research Associate at the Institute for Global Health at University College London (UCL). It is funded by the Department for International Development via Action Against Hunger, USA. This post holder will work within the [url=http://www.actionagainsthunger.org/refani]REFANI consortium[/url] project where they will act as the Study Coordinator for one of the 2 studies that UCL will be leading. The aim of the studies is to increase knowledge of how, and under what circumstances, cash transfers are effective at reducing the risk of malnutrition during humanitarian emergencies. The consortium includes Action Against Hunger USA (ACF), UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH), Emergency Nutrition Network, and Concern Worldwide. This post is funded for 24 months in the first instance. It is essential to have an MSc degree in epidemiology, public health, nutrition, or a related discipline or relevant experience. You should also have experience of collecting and quality assurance of anthropometric data and working in a nutrition or health research environment. You should have the ability of managing teams of field staff with varying abilities. It is anticipated that the study will take place in Somalia.
