We are looking for: A NUTRITION AND HEALTH EXPERT Country: Indonesia, based in Kupang (NTT) with some visits to Jakarta Length of Contract: 4 months starting as soon as possible Context: ACF and UNICEF are working in partnership to establish a CMAM Pilot project integrated in the Indonesian Health System. This pilot will take place in Kupang District (Province of Nusa Tenggara Timur) where ACF develops integrated prevention of under-nutrition since 2011. It will focus mainly on SAM management and community-based prevention. The project will benefit from lessons learnt during the first CMAM trial in Indonesia (Sikka District) implemented by UNICEF. This project will last for 3 years with the objective of setting up a replicable model in strong coordination with MoH. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Country Director, you will be responsible to contribute to the establishment and monitoring of nutrition and health programmes (CMAM Pilot Project) in partnership with MoH services and UNICEF. More precisely, you will be in charge to: • Facilitate the development of work by the partner agencies to set up an integrated CMAM address malnutrition in collaboration with UNICEF and District Health Office / MoH: • Study of the existing protocols and proposals to amend them in order to improve the care and treatment of malnourished people • Analysis and monitoring of the care of beneficiaries in the partner centres and recommendations for improvement in this domain • Participate in preparing and implementing nutrition surveys (SMART). • Support the MoH and UNICEF to review, revise and update existing CMAM protocols, job aids, training materials, monitoring protocols, Health Information and Reporting System and other relevant materials to be included in the CMAM project • Devise the community sensitisation and mobilisation strategy for the intervention sub-district • Establish training and skills development for the teams in partner organisations in collaboration with UNICEF and District Health Office / MoH: • Proposing sequences of training sessions for the Health Staffs on CMAM and on Maternal Nutrition • Prepare training material targeting health service providers and community health workers • Develop tools and indicators for the Monitoring &Evaluation system in collaboration with MoH and UNICEF : • Define the indicators adapted to the programme to be integrated and followed by the local Health Information System (HIS) and by ACF and UNICEF to monitor on the performance of the project. • Build the capacities of ACF and UNICEF staff to ensure qualitative and quantitve analysis of programme result and support to MoH’s HIS. • Represent ACF and develop local partnerships Qualification and previous experience: You have a nutrition professional background and have demonstrated and successful experience in senior nutrition positions on the field for humanitarian organizations. You are recognized as a specialist of CMAM program set-up and nutrition assessments and surveys implementation. You have a proven track record of working with local partners and strengthening local health systems through training and coaching. As a manager, your training capacities are one of your key skills. A first experience in Asia, especially in Indonesia will be an asset. Fluent English speaking and writing skills are compulsory.
