We are looking for: A MENTAL HEALTH AND CARE PRACTICES EXPERT
Country: Afghanistan, based in Kabul
Length of Contract: 6 months, starting the 15th of September 2014
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director, you will be responsible to contribute to implementation and monitoring of Mental Health & Care Practices (MHCP) programmes and integrated approaches including MHCP.
More precisely, you will be in charge to:
• Develop job capacity building of the national program managers in the development and management of their activities
- Build the PMs capacities in Project cycle Management
- Coach the PMs to ensure effective and efficient collaboration with the support departments
- Provide support to PMs when supervising the MHCP activities especially related to behaviour change
- Ensures that the technical protocols, manuals, guidelines and forms used in the field are in line with ACF
- Coach the Program Managers in the development of partnerships
• Ensure the project planning and monitoring
- Supports project managers in setting-up of tools for monitoring of the logical framework indicators in their respective projects
- Supports project managers in monitoring the budget and targets achieved
- Managing planning, work-sharing and coordination of work with the different sectors.
- Ensures the overall monitoring the projects
- Ensure regular field monitoring visits
• Provide support for programme coordination and management
- Ensure the timely production of monthly and technical reports from the field
- Follow up the activities, analyse and evaluate the programs
- Adapt the project’s objectives/results/activities/methodology if relevant
- Actively participate in relevant forums concerned with MHCP
• Ensure the technical coordination
- Analyse and control the technical performance and relevance of the projects
- Produce quality reports of project activities for both internal and external circulation diffusion
- Attend technical workshops and technical working group meetings related to the programs;
- Ensure good coordination and representation towards stakeholders and partners
- Work in close coordination with technical Head of Departments for multisector and integrated projects having MHCP component.
• Establish training and skills development for the MHCP teams of the current programs
Qualification and previous experience: You hold a master degree in psychology, and have at least 5 years of field level experience of psychological sector and behaviour change.
Successful applicant must have a broad experience of managing psychosocial programs in the field in coordination with other technical departments. You hold an extended knowledge of MHCP integrated approach in humanitarian field.
Recognized for your relational and communicational skills, you have developed strong training and team supervision capacities. You know how to adapt yourself within a fast working environment and team setting.
You are recognized for your sense of confidentiality and your representative skills.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Able to work in complicated security environment.
A first experience with ACF will be an asset.
Status: Employee
- Total average yearly gross income : from 44910€ to 51410€
- Fixed-term contract, provided by ACF according to the French legislation.
- All expenses paid on the field:
o Support to the R & R costs : 110€/month average
o Transportation costs to and from the mission : 460€/ month average,
o Collective or individual accommodation depending on position : 700€/month average
o Food and hygiene expenses (living allowance) : 254€ /month directly paid on the field
o Per Diem : 161 €/month directly paid on the field
- Gross monthly salary ranging from €1805 to €2305 (13rd month included), depending on relevant experience
- Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution
- 25 days of annual paid leaves
- 20 days of extra leaves per year (taken as recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission)
- Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris
