We are looking for: A NUTRITION AND HEALTH COORDINATOR Country: Somalia, based in Nairobi (Kenya) Length of Contract: 12 months from the 12th of June 2014 Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Nutrition and Health Coordinator will be responsible to define strategies and coordinate activities of Action Contre la Faim in Somalia in the fields of Nutrition and Health. More precisely, he or she will be in charge to: - Manage of ACF’s nutrition and health interventions in Somalia: continue nutritional and health situation analysis based on internal and external data; propose and design high quality standard of nutritional and medical, implement and maintain a quality Monitoring and Evaluation system - Support the monitoring and coordination of nutrition and health programmes : launch nutritional surveys; develop integrated approach programmes; collect and analyse data, provide quality activity reports; monitor all consolidated programme budgets - Support the management and provide technical support to the NUT-MED teams : provide leadership and orientation to the NUT-MED team of the Somalia country program; realise appraisal and develop technical performance and skills of all NUT-MED team members - Develop local capacities: identify local governmental or non-governmental partners able to implement NUT-MED activities; develop trainings for these partners and disseminate of ACF NUT-MED strategy to them - Support the representation and advocacy in the field of nutrition and health: represent ACF in front of national and international authorities on matters of health and nutrition; make national and international actors aware of ACF’s positions and protocols; propose and implement technical advocacy activities ; develop and maintain a broad network with governmental and non-governmental nutrition and health agencies Qualification and previous experience: Master degree in Nutrition, Public Health or equivalent. Minimum three years field experience in implementing and managing nutrition programmes on a similar position. Technical expertise in CMAM and/or SMART is required. Good knowledge of humanitarian, UN and MoH strategies is compulsory. Experience in technical advocacy/collaboration with governmental departments is necessary. Diplomacy and negotiation skills. Excellent team management experience. Computer proficiency in word processing, database, spread sheet and graphics presentations. Fully fluent in English. First experience with ACF will be a plus and a first experience in the Somali context will be an advantage.
