After running a high impact SAM intervention with a solid community and facility based care component with a provision of RUTF, the program will have to close down by the end of December. The scenario is like this where the area is prone for emergencies, malnutrition in these areas is ramphat and there is a need to maintain our presence in the area if not running a full blown SAM intervention but at least a well designed intervention on prevention and promotion activities so that we 'll be able to prevent MAM children slipping into SAM, monitor the situation closely, build the capacity of the district health system and at the same time respond briskly in the event of an emergency. Appreciate if someone can share with me a program design for setting up prevention and promotion activities to change behaviors, increase awareness and set up proper surveillance to monitor the situation. Please let me know if there are any programs designed with prevention as the main goal. Thanks.
