We are looking for: A NUTRITION AND HEALTH COORDINATOR Country: Afghanistan – Based in Kabul Length of Contract: 12 months from the 1st of July 2014 Responsibilities: The Head of Nutrition and Health Department is responsible for nutrition and health strategy and intervention in Afghanistan: - Strengthen ACF Afghanistan Nutrition/health strategic positioning and programming: Explore needs and feasibility of relevant nutrition/health interventions in compliance with ACF strategy in terms of nutrition/health and develop projects accordingly. Active coordination with other nutrition and health actors. Develop partnerships with local and international health or nutrition partners. Develop integrated programs targeting under-nutrition in coordination with Food Security, WASH and MHCP. Coordinate and share information on nutrition/health with donors at country level… - Build, strengthen and reinforce ACF nutrition/health capacity in the country: Recruitment and continuous capacity development of a nutrition/health team. Strengthen the psycho –social component in nutrition/health program. Provide technical support to nutrition/health actors. Enhance nutrition/health knowledge and focus for all ACF teams in Afghanistan… - Management of all Nutrition/health interventions: Supervise the Technical supports. Support the nutrition/health team defining the implementation methodology, organizing trainings, defining a realistic working plan, setting up monitoring system, activity follow-up tools and ensure its implementation. Ensure the timely production/compilation of monthly and technical reports. Follow up the activities, analyse and evaluate the programs by conducting regular field visits, communicating regularly with the teams. Providing technical support to the program managers. - External coordination and representation - Carry out reporting tasks and capitalization work Qualification and previous experience: Nutritionist, medical doctor or nurse with experience in relief and development field is compulsory. Minimum three years field experience in implementing and managing nutrition programmes. Technical expertise in CMAM and/or SMART is required. Experience in working and /coordinating mid-term/development oriented type of programmes. Experience in technical advocacy/collaboration with governmental departments would be an asset. Ability to have a broad vision integrating different aspects (logistics, context, culture and traditions, etc.). Computer proficiency in word processing, database, spread sheet and graphics presentations. Fully fluent in English. Ability to work in a highly sensitive environment. Diplomacy and negotiation skills. Excellent proposal writing experience.
