We are looking for: A NUTRITION AND HEALTH PROGRAM MANAGER – SMART SURVEY Country: India – Orissa state Length of Contract: 3 months from the 15th of April 2014 General objective: Within India, the state of Orissa has some of the lowest development indicators, and is among the states with the worst nutritional indicators. The cyclone Phailin, made landfall on 9th October near Gopalpur triggered huge destruction of shelter and livelihood, caused heavy rainfall into central India, subsequently caused flooding in Ganjam, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Balasore districts and the displacement of 171,083 people and 18,374 villages, with 13,235,981 people were affected. Following the Phailin cyclone in the region of ODISHA‘s State, a NGO consortium's intervention was set up. The response targets cyclone and floods affected peoples mainly food security, shelter and WASH activities. ACF, will undertake 2 SMART surveys within the two most affected districts. The objective of these 2 studies is to determine the baseline prevalence of acute malnutrition and mortality in these two districts. In that perspective, you will be in charge of preparing, organizing, supervising, analysing and writing the report of the Integrated SMART survey in Orissa state. Responsibilities: As such, you will have to: - Prepare, organise, and implement the Integrated SMART survey - Collect field data for correction and analysis (using ENA-SMART software) - Analyse and interpret data from all sectors of survey and other sources if relevant - Write the integrated SMART survey preliminary and final report and present to stakeholders - Coach and train the ACF staff to SMART survey Qualification and previous experience: Post-graduate diploma in nutrition and/or public health, with a specific focus on humanitarian and developments contexts. A significant experience in undertaking nutrition surveys on the field is compulsory, as well as a first-hand knowledge and experience of the SMART survey methodology and ENA, Epi/ENA or Epi Info software. Successful applicants will demonstrate excellent English writing and presentation skills. A previous experience in India is an asset.
