Valid International is a company pioneering the use of innovative operational research to strengthen the evidence base for public health and nutrition intervention within the aid and business sectors in developing countries. The next phase of Valid’s growth will capitalize and expand upon our proven competencies in operational research, behavior change and demand generation at community level. This includes our unique surveying and market research capabilities. We now want to recruit a Manager to lead a newly created division, (Valid Measures), that will roll out a new range of mapping, impact assessment and market research tools, providing these to commercial companies selling goods and services at the Bottom of the Pyramid and the Public sector (including UN and NGOs). The products and services we are making available to customers will enable unprecedented and cost effective analytics of this emerging market segment. We are seeking someone who: • Possesses the energy and drive to successfully launch these new products and services commercially, leading the small but expert team that has developed them. • Has appropriate skills and experience to “hit the ground running” and wants to develop their capabilities further in a challenging but exciting environment. • Is committed to our mission and sees the huge opportunity in what we are trying to achieve. In terms of skills and experience, we are seeking someone who: • Has led a team and managed a business unit with commercial revenue and profit responsibility in a relevant situation. • Possesses a strong understanding of basic marketing techniques, especially both quantitative and qualitative market research applications. • Ideally, has knowledge to degree level of statistics, global information systems or relevant IT applications. • Preferably, has worked in a role or situations where epidemiology and or anthropology is centrally involved.
