BACKGROUND IMC has been operational in Yemen since 2012 focusing on health, Nutrition and WASH service delivery JOB SUMMARY The Nutrition Program Manager is responsible for administrative, financial, and technical management, guidance, training, and ongoing supportive supervision to field program staff and support to the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MoPHP) to enhance effective micronutrient intervention program implementation and integration. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Program Management: • Provide technical guidance, training and ongoing supportive supervision to field program staff to enhance effective program implementation • Manage partner’s nutrition advisor and ensure that sub is meeting program objectives in a timely manner and that the quality of services provided is of very high quality. • Ensure that all activities are conducted in a timely, cost and quality effective manner • Prepare monthly technical reports to the Country Director and provide technical input into quarterly, semiannual and annual reports according to donor requirements and IMC procedures • Prepare annual and quarterly work plan and budget that identify key objectives, responsible staff, deliverables and potential roadblocks • Conduct needs assessment and prepare proposals identifying needs, program modalities, budget and staffing. Integrated Nutrition Technical support • Ensure international and national standards are met while delivering micronutrient interventions • Provide technical input for data analysis, interpretation and reporting micronutrient deficiency diseases and treatment modalities. • Ensure IMC compliance with Yemen MoPHP Basic Package of Health services and micronutrient protocols • Ensure that all staff implementing this micronutrient program receive appropriate training, mentorship and coaching to ensure the maximum quality of the intervention and their effective participation in raising awareness, prevention, and treatment of micronutrient deficiencies in target areas of intervention. • Ensure that micronutrient supplies under IMC supervision are properly managed in collaboration with logistics and other relevant staff. • Provide technical advice and support to other project staff on integration of micronutrient activities into ongoing health, nutrition and WASH programs to ensure programming objectives are successfully achieved. Program Development • Assist Country Director in expanding IMC’s micronutrient intervention portfolio • Pursue new sources of donor funding for micronutrient interventions and maintain adequate donor funding levels to sustain identified program and support activities • Participate in Nutrition coordination to ensure that IMC’s micronutrient intervention has the required support from the cluster coordination mechanism and if neeed, the UN funding instruments such as CERF, CHF etc Human Resources • Oversee the recruitment and selection of qualified program field staff, recommend promotions, disciplinary action and termination of staff in consultation with supervisors • Make frequent site visits to ensure that appropriate care and training are being conducted and to offer support to field staff • Maintain open lines of communications with all field staff Training/ Capacity Building • Determine training needs for the field staff • Train senior national staff to increase their responsibilities in order to build capacity and ensure sustainability of intervention • Advocate and plan for professional development for national staff Working Relationships and Representation • Maintain frequent communication with Country Director to ensure program activities and objectives are communicated and on target. • Ensure that the micronutrient program is coordinated with finance, logistics, and other existing programs especially CMAM program • Represent IMC and take an active role at task force meetings, assessment missions, coordination meetings, and cluster and INGO coordination meetings • Interface with MoPHP and relevant agencies to ensure mutual understanding of the micronutrient program and maximize resource distribution and allocation of available funds • Work with key donor staff to develop and maintain optimum programmatic relationship • Ensure maximum visibility of the agency amongst the NGO community • Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of IMC’s mandate, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to other actors Requirements • MPH with at least five years of nutrition or public health background/experience in developing countries. • Experience in designing interventions to treat and prevent micronutrient deficiencies, a must. • Previous working experience in emergency set-up with at least five year experience in an international organization as a nutrition program manager • Skilled in management , supervision and organization • Very good program report writing skills as well as analytical capacities • Excellent representation and coordination skills working with MOH, Health and nutrition Clusters and other stakeholders • Strong experience in organizing and conducting training and capacity building • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, EXCEL) • Energetic, independent and motivated to work in resource limited and harsh environment • Strong teamwork skills in a multi-cultural setting Language Skills: • Ability to read, writes, analyze and interpret, technical and non-technical documents in the English language. • Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field and HQ, counterparts, senior government and other related regional players • Working knowledge of English is a must Conditions: • Accommodation, living allowance and transportation provided by IMC • Medical Evacuation service and competitive benefits provided by IMC • Further information regarding security and situation on the field available during the interview process APPLICATION PROCEDURE To officially begin the application process, please visit our website at [url]http://careers.internationalmedicalcorps.org/careers.aspx[/url] and complete the online employment application form.
