Length of Contract: 24 months, starting June the 15th Based in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia Responsibilities: To lead the implementation, review and update of the country nutrition strategy and annual action plan in collaboration with nutrition team members and support from the Country Director. The Head of Nutrition and Health Department will be responsible for: 1. Design, develop and evaluate actions in the field of nutrition and health - collection and quality control of monitoring, follow up and evaluation data - quality for the nutritional situation analysis - the standard of nutritional and medical proposals submitted by his/her teams - encouraging his/her teams to identify new programmes - development of an ACF nutrition and health strategy specific to the mission 2. Monitor and coordinate programmes in the fields of nutrition and health - deciding to launch nutritional surveys in liaison with the Country Director - development of integrated (inter-disciplinary) approach programmes - collection and analysis of data, including the decisions making on this basis - Providing activity report of quality In the given timeline - monitoring all the consolidated programme budgets relating to nutrition and health allocated to the country 3. Manage the Nutrition and Health team in capital if any and be the Technical/Support Manager of the Nutrition and Health Program Managers - Evaluation of the technical performance and skills of Programme Managers - Developing the technical skills of Nutrition and Health teams 4. Develop and launch programmes in collaboration with governmental, UN, international and local agencies - Dissemination of the ACF nutrition and health strategy at country level to partners and funding bodies - Developing and maintaining a network of harmonious and productive relationships with national representatives and programme partners (funding bodies, other NGOs, etc) - Advice on MoU to define the terms of various partnership 5. Represent Action Contre la Faim and its positioning in the field of nutrition and health - Representing ACF in dealings with national and international authorities on matters of health and nutrition - Making national and international authorities fully aware of the ACF positions and protocols Qualification and previous experience: Nutritionist, medical doctor or nurse with experience in relief and development field is compulsory. Minimum two years field experience in implementing and managing nutrition programmes. Technical expertise in CMAM and/or SMART is required. Fully fluent in English. Ability to work in a highly sensitive environment. Diplomacy and negotiation skills. Excellent proposal writing experience. Status: Employee - Total average yearly gross income: from 41160 € to 47160 € - Food and housing: 1000 € / month average o Per Diem : 210 € / month average o Support to the R & R costs : 110 € / month average o Transportation costs to and from the mission : 460 € / month average o Monthly gross salary ranging from 1650 € to 2150 € (Net: from 1518 € to 1978 €) depending on relevant experience (possibility to increase up to 2750 € gross (2530 € net) according to seniority and performances) - 25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of R & R per year (taken as recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission) - Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution - Accompanied position (partner, children) - Training before departure and all along the career with Action Contre la Faim.
