SUMMARY: The Senior Development Nutritionist is responsible for creating and implementing a nutrition development strategy for International Medical Corps in consultation with relevant stakeholders and collaborating across departments. Additionally the Senior Development Nutritionist will be responsible for supporting the Nutrition and Food Security Department’s new initiatives. RESPONSBILITIES: •Strategic Planning: develop International Medical Corps’ nutrition portfolio multi-year and annual strategy focusing on opportunity analysis to guide International Medical Corps’ country offices and program missions as they transition from relief to self-reliance platforms; •Lead the nutrition technical development of multiyear proposals including pre-proposal scoping, positioning and engagement; proposal development: external and internal technical representation & management; and proposal writing and editing to ensure technical quality & standards achieved; •Assist in the startup of new nutrition development multiyear programs; •Monitor nutrition development multiyear programs and ensure that the implementation of the nutrition programs conforms to internationally accepted standards and country guidelines and put in place an M&E plan in collaboration with M&E advisers and countries nutrition focal points; •With the countries nutrition focal points, monitor program impact and ensure that program data is valid and relevant, and used to inform program development; •Provide technical review of proposals and project reports prior to submission to donors; •Participate and take leadership on specific NFS department projects, such as research, new initiatives, and developing IMC policies and program models; •Must be able to travel to field up to 35% of time; •Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: •Master’s degree in nutrition, public health nutrition, international development or related field; •Minimum of 8 years experience in implementation and management of or provision of technical support to nutrition programs in development settings in various geographical areas or extensive experience in one area; •Public Health Nutrition experience in multi-sectoral programming, with strong knowledge of food security and/or maternal and child health contributions; •Significant experience in grant program acquisition and management including negotiation, design, budgeting, start-up, monitoring and close-out for such donors as USAID/Food for Peace DFAPs; •Excellent networking skills with established networks in the nutrition, health, agriculture and development worlds, especially in Washington, DC; •Demonstrated strong technical writing and editing skills; •Demonstrated leadership, organizational, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills; •Proven ability to work independently and under short deadlines; •High level of other languages, including French, Spanish, or Arabic, desirable.
